Meet Dr. Helen Cox

An adjustment is so simple yet so profound.

Understanding the Power of Chiropractic

Since Dr. Helen’s teenage years, she was a chiropractic patient. She studied at the University of Lethbridge to be an accountant but was unsure as to the direction she should go in her life after graduation. Once, when lying on the chiropractor’s table, it occurred to Dr. Helen that she knew exactly what she was meant to do. Every time she left the chiropractor’s office, she felt fantastic. With a desire to share this feeling with others, she decided to enter the natural healing profession.

Though she initially visited the chiropractor to get help with pain, Dr. Helen realized that a properly functioning spine and nervous system allowed her to deal with the stresses of life. Her children, Angela and Chrystal, also reaped the benefits of care by rarely being sick, missing school or being affected by common childhood ailments like ear infections.

Earning a Doctor of Chiropractic

Dr. Helen attended Parker College of Chiropractic in Dallas. There, she learned from incredible mentors and clinic doctors and had her eyes opened by her senior peers. They taught her about how chiropractic care could not only allow people feel better but could help the body work at a higher level.

Since her graduation, Dr. Helen has continued her education regularly. She is currently pursing her certification with the the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association. Additionally, she has trained extensively in custom orthotic therapy, various techniques and within the pediatric realm with Epic Pediatrics. She has a particular focus on neurodevelopmental and sensory processing disorders.

One such impactful case was a little girl with PANDAS or Pediatric Autoimmune Neuropsychiatric Disorders Associated With Streptococcal Infections. After starting chiropractic, the girl’s mom reported she’d had no episodes, wasn’t wetting the bed, was back in school and didn’t need to take her medications anymore.

When someone you love is sick, it affects all the people around them. Dr. Helen is proud to be a part of the changes that occur within chiropractic families.
